What time of year is best to visit?
The best time to visit Banff is during the summer months of June, July, and August. During this period, the sun doesn’t set until 10 pm, providing ample daylight to explore and enjoy the stunning landscapes.
Which was your favorite place you visited or experience?
Lake Moraine, which is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, right outside the village of Lake Louise. The stunning turquoise lake is probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
Insider/Expert tip
Lake Louise and Lake Moraine are Banff’s most popular destinations. To avoid crowds and secure parking, visit early. Note that Lake Moraine is accessible only by shuttle or guide. If you're staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs, take advantage of their daily shuttles to the lakes, which are about an hour away. However, book these shuttles in advance due to their popularity. For a more customized experience, consider booking a private guide through the hotel, who can take you to other beautiful lakes in Banff National Park, including the must-see Peyto Lake. The Fairmont guides tailor each experience to meet your specific needs.
Best meal you had on your trip
The food in Banff is fantastic, especially at the Fairmont Banff Springs. The hotel offers a variety of dining options, with stunning views from the Waldhaus patio and the Rumble Bar. Outside the property, some favorite spots in the town of Banff include Block, LUPO, Bluebird Wood-fired Steakhouse, and Three Bears Brewery.
What was the highlight of your trip?
We booked a Via Ferrata tour, which is an assisted rock-climbing experience on the cliffs above Mt. Norquay Ski Resort. If you are looking for something different to do on your trip to Banff, this is it! The views from the top were breathtaking and it was so much fun!
Anything else?
For an upgraded experience, consider staying in a Fairmont Gold room. This offers private check-in and access to the exclusive Gold Lounge, making you feel like you're in a hotel within a hotel. This upgrade can significantly enhance your stay in Banff.
